Starting life as a photo essay on July 6th 2008. 06/07/08 evolved into a written narrative exploring the events of that day and observations of the author.
Being chapter-free the book design called for a solution that would embrace the free‑flowing nature of the writing while providing breakpoints where the narrative changes. To achieve this the book is sectioned using abstract versions of the related photos and a divider showing the first line of the new section printed with letterpress.
To enhance the transition a different paper is used for the divider and it's reduced size in relation to the book softens the section change to maintain the overall flow of the text.
Through thoughtful creative direction bringing together graphic design, materials, printing and binding. The finished book is luxurious, tactile and a unique family keepsake.
